It is a great honor for North West Frontier Province that it produced many prestigious personalities on its soil who gave the sense of development and realization not only to the key persons of the society but also to the poor & underprivileged as well. It is due to their unprecedented achievements that we are now standing and claim ourselves as a change agent of the society. Zakaullah Khan (Late) Executive Director PVDP was one of them. He played a tremendous role to the development of Pakistan in various capacities; He was an outstanding facilitator through which he trained and polished lots of individuals, civil societies and institutions and at the same time he was one of the best social workers, developmental specialist and off course a good human being.

Being a student of Agriculture Rural Development, he had been admired by the department it self time to time. He had the power of knowledge and wisdom to solve the common problems of the common people. He contributed a lot to this field as he was one of those who really introduced the idea of community participation at a large scale. He wrote many books on “how to ensure the community active participation and how to sustain it”. The idea of disseminating knowledge and wisdom through Human and Institutional Development trainings is also appreciable and there are about 60 NGOs/CBOs and WOs who are getting benefit from it. He was one of the best community development specialists. He gave 15 most precious years of his life to this field. He was always consultative and collaborative in his approach and was able to contribute ideas as well as receiving ideas and input from others.

He spoke in a lively and conversational manner. This, naturally inspired confidence and holds the attention of the people and this made him to lend his valuable services as facilitator and trainer for partner NGOs and staff of various National and International organizations. He had also performed his duties as the director of Pak-CDP.

He never let his passion loose, just for the sake of providing his services to the society in a more structured way, that’s why, he established a Non-profitable, Non-Governmental, Non-Political organization named PVDP in 1999 with the aim “To promote building of a just civil society by harnessing the creative energies of poor & under privileged.” and served as an Executive Directive from 1999 to till his life time ended. PVDP is now-a-days rending services in eleven districts of NWFP by the grace of ALLAH all mighty and by the hard work of one n only Zakaullah Khan.

Mr. Zakaullah Khan the founder and motivational force of PVDP passed away on December 27, 2006 and leaving his memories alive for eternity. Mr. Zakaullah Khan will always be living in the hearts of thousands of people n specially of those, who are working for the well being of miserable and needy people. He had real empathy for the ignored, disregarded and unnoticed people as he had mostly been working in the far flung and remote areas of NWFP especially in the earthquake affected zone. May Almighty ALLAH keep his soul in peace, AMEEN.
